Welcome To Portland - One of Americas most beautiful cities

 My Perspective

Welcome to my web page about Portland, Oregon.  This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever lived - and I've lived in many places (see About Me).  There are so many trees and beautiful views of Mt. Hood from so many vantage points. No Matter where you are within moments you can enjoy the natural beauty here. In recent years, people from all over the world have moved  to Portland.  It's evolved into a diverse and dynamic city.

There's a little bit of everything for everyone.  We have the beautiful Willamette and Columbia Rivers for recreation, boating and fishing.  One can take a half-day and take the Historic Highway to Crown Pointe, only about a 30-45 minute drive from city center. It's one of the most picuresque vistas I have ever seen. Then you can continue on the Historic Highway to another spectacular sight - Multnomah Falls. What a great day this makes.

Downotwn Portland is one of my favorite places.  Pin striped suits intertwine with spikes and tatoos. It's fun and very colorful! I love taking my friends and clients down for lunch and to some of my favorite hangouts: Nordstrom on Broadway or Pioneer place just a few blocks away.  What I enjoy the most is the walking from one place to the next.  That's the most entertaining,

There's nothing in the world that compares to a clear sunny day here.  Everyone comes out to smell and feel  the warmth of the sun.  If you like to people watch, eat lunch on one of the steps at Pioneer Square.  It's a 3-ring circus --- definitely the hangout!!

Walk up to Park Street and enjoy Performing Arts at the Schnitz (Arlene Scnitzer Hall), The Portland Art Museum  along with several other museums and eateries.  If you want to eat at an excellent Restaurant, try South Park just kitty corner from the Schnitz.

Just a few blocks away you cross Burnside and enter in the trendy Brewery Blocks and The Pearl District - the hip place in town, where the young and old come together to live, dine and shop. If you like the urban lifestyle, live in The Pearl!

Just a few blocks outside the Pearl District is the Northwest 23rd area (also known as Nob Hill).  You'll find lovely older apartments condos, and homes walking distance to plenty of shopping, restaurants, cafes with music and Starbuck's.  April is gorgeous here when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Make sure you have lunch at Papa Hayden's and make sure to save room for one of their infamous desserts.

Just a few blocks away you can take Vista Drive, a scenic drive dotted with beautiful homes to Washington Park.  Here you must see the Rose Garden with a breathtaking view overlooking Portland.  When the Roses are in bloom during the summer it rivals the top rose gardens in the world.  Here you can also enjoy the lovely and serene Japanese Garden.  If you have kids or if you just want to pretend you are a kid take some time at the Portland Zoo. In addition to normal zoo-fare, there are lots of events, concerts an activities at the zoo.  Try an evening summer Concert at the Zoo - bring a picnic and blanket and enjoy big-name musicians or bundle up for winter Zoo Lights.  It's Magical!

Being from New Orleans I love a variety of neighborhoods from  the old gorgeous areas of Irvington and Alameda to The Hawthorne District and trendy parts of NE Portland. Northwest Portland has some of my favorite neighborhoods including Bethany, Forest Heights and Dunthorpe - one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in town.

This is just a snap shot of what Portland has to offer.  Whether you already live here or are relocating to the area, please feel free to give me a call and I'll be happy to suggest some things to do in Portland that would interst you.  503.495.3841.

Cheers!.
